Course Cost: $100* (covers books, materials, exam, certificate and qualification patch and rocker.)
Pistol Rental: $30* (Allows for the use of a pistol for the live fire exercise and covers the cost of ammunition.)

Course Description

The State of Florida requires a training course for applicants who seek to obtain a license to conceal their firearm in Florida and reciprocating states. An extension to our NRA Basic Pistol Training Course, this course continues on to satisfy the requirements found in Florida Statute, Title XLVI, 790.06. Additionally, training for presenting your firearm from the holster and advanced self-defense training is provided.

Course Goal

To instruct the student in advanced self-defense concepts and the material required by the State of Florida to obtain a license to conceal a deadly weapon.

Lessons
  1. Safe Storage of Firearms and Ammunition and Child Safety
  2. Instruction of Laws Regarding Purchase, Ownership, Transportation and Use of a Firearm
  3. Instruction of Laws Pertaining to the Use of Deadly Force for Defense of Self, Others and Home
  4. Confrontation Avoidance and De-escalation
  5. Life Fire Exercise, Expending 100 Rounds of Ammunition
Prerequisites

This course first requires the completion of our NRA Basic Pistol Course. These courses are generally scheduled to run consecutively on the same day or weekend -- the cost for both classes is $225. If you take both courses and wish to rent a pistol, the cost of rental will be $30.

Course Completion

Students will receive feedback on the live-fire exercise and a notarized certificate of completion suitable to be submitted to the State of Florida. A short written exam will be presented at the end of the course.
